Stay Active & Healthy in 2021!
Children and adolescents aged​​ 6 and older need at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day, as well as at least a few days per week of bone- and muscle-strengthening exercises. Children younger than 6 years need 3 hours of activity every day.
Get 1 hour or more of moderate to vigorous physical activity each day.

Some Tips to Encourage Exercise:

• Emphasize fun. Help your child find a sport that they enjoy. The more they enjoy the activity, the more likely they will be to continue it. Get the entire family involved. It is a great way to spend time together.
• 
  Provide active toys.Young children especially need easy access to balls, jump ropes, and other active toys.
• 
  Set limits, each day. Use the free time for more physical activities video games Limit screen time, including time spent on TV, videos, and computers.

COVID19 Vaccine FAQ:

• What is a mRNA vaccine?
  • COVID-19 mRNA vaccines teach our cells how to make a piece of a protein to trigger an immune response and build immunity to the virus that causes COVID19. mRNA does not affect or interact with a person’s DNA and the cell breaks down and gets rid of the mRNA as soon as it is finished using the instructions. • Can I get COVID-19 from the vaccine?
  • None of the COVID-19 vaccines currently authorized for use in the United States uses the live virus that causes COVID-19. You may have symptoms like a fever after you get a vaccine. This is normal and a sign that your immune system is learning how to recognize and fight the virus that causes COVID-19. Learn more about the facts behind #COVID19 vaccines: cdc.gov/coronavirus

•  Should I receive the vaccine if I have allergies?
  •  Yes!  The only contraindication is a previous history of allergic reaction to other vaccines.  This vaccine does not contain food allergens (i.e. eggs), aluminum, or mercury.  Having an Epi-Pen prescribed is not a contraindication.

• What are the common side effects?
  • Injection site reaction, fatigue, headache, muscle pain, chills, joint pain, and fever.  This is normal, and your body’s “immune response”.  Symptoms generally subside within 24-48 hours.

• How long does it take for the vaccine to take effect?
  •  It takes 12-14 days after your second injection to take full effect.  There is a partial response after the 1st vaccine although full immunity occurs after getting your second vaccine.
